4teachers website

I thought that they 4teachers.org website was a great resource for teachers. Here were a few of my favorites...
Rubistar is a great tool to create rubrics and add more areas that you wouldn't necessarily think of. The Classroom Architect is useful to help organize your classroom and create seating charts- the negative is that you can't (or atleast I couldn't) add a name to the student desk. This could be helpful so that you as the teacher are not standing in the front of the room directing but allowing students to do it on their own. Casa Notes was nice because its simple, yet to the point without being over colorful.

Word, Publisher & Inspiration

This class will really make the classroom simpler when I do get into the field. The past two classes I have found so helpful to eliminate tedious steps and to save time through Word, Publisher, etc. I was so surprised at the amount of templates available. I do use Word frequently and once in a blue moon Publisher but never knew the extent of what was available.

I am glad that we started to learn Inspiration because I am currently taking N-6 Science and Methods and need to use Inspiration to create my concept map. I feel like that you need to take this class earlier in your track so that you have the tools to easily create and understand how to do things; especially when creating units-otherwise you are lost! What I like about Inspiration is that you can add graphics or just use the words and be able to create worksheets or quizzes for your classroom.

What is a blog?

A blog is an electronic journal online that allows users to vent and reflect about any topic of their choice. Photo's, video's and extras are all permitted to be added to your blog.

Uses in the classroom could include posting homework and announcements for parents, sharing and bouncing off ideas with other teachers, links for students and parents to view outside of the classroom on current units, show student work, etc.
